My name is Julia, I’m 63 years old, and I am the founder of Julia Belmonte. All my life I’ve been passionate about dressing well and helping people feel good about their image—and to this day, I continue to do so, every single day, from my own store.

There are women who, upon reaching their 60s, decide they have dressed up enough. That it's time to put away the beautiful wardrobe and settle. I decided exactly the opposite: that I was just getting started.

The Beginning Of Everything

I was always passionate about dressing well. Not out of vanity, but because I knew what an outfit that fits you well can do for how you look and how you feel. Over the years, I started to notice something that pained me: many women of my generation were stopping from dressing up, trading the joy of feeling beautiful for the comfort of "dressing like an older person." And I realized that many men were going through exactly the same thing: they stopped taking care of their image because they felt that, after a certain age, it was no longer appropriate.

I wasn't willing to resign myself to that, not for them or for myself. So, in 2017, I did something few dare to do at 54 years old: I invested my own savings into a dream and founded Julia Belmonte.

What Makes Us Different

At Julia Belmonte, we don’t just sell clothes: we help you find yourself, whether you are a woman or a man. I have an eye that only experience can provide—I am able to look at a person and know, almost instantly, what garment will make them feel unstoppable. That eye, combined with the quality we demand in every fabric and finish, is what truly sets us apart.

We treat every customer as what they are to us: someone who shares our same passion for feeling good. That is why there are customers who have been with us from day one—almost like family.

Everything started with women in mind who, like me, didn't want to stop feeling beautiful—but we apply that same vision and care for every garment to the men who dress with us as well. A man walking through that door doesn’t change anything about what we offer: the same attention, the same quality, the same desire to see them leave feeling better than when they arrived. We don't generalize by gender here—we want the same for everyone: for you to feel incredible in what you are wearing.

The Moment We Almost Lost Everything

The path wasn't always easy. In 2020, when the whole world came to a standstill, we were one step away from closing forever. It was, without a doubt, the hardest moment in our history.

But it was precisely those first customers—those who had already found something more than just clothes in us—who kept writing to us, kept trusting us, and kept choosing us. Their loyalty was what gave us the strength not to give up.

Today, Between Two Generations

Today, Julia Belmonte is no longer just my dream. My daughter Lucía joined the project, and together—mother and daughter—we continue to build the same vision every day, for women and men of any age: that no one should lose the desire to feel good about themselves, secure, and alive.

If there is one thing I have learned on this journey, it is that it is never too late to reinvent yourself. I did it at 54. And if I could, you can too—whoever you are.
